Mahanakhon The Tallest Building

MahaNakhon will be the most significant complex of contemporary architecture and urban design in Thailand. As one of the city’s tallest buildings, the mixed-use space will bring together the best of metropolitan life - from culture to cuisine - in a dynamic civic environment. MahaNakhon includes The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Bangkok, The Bangkok Edition Hotel and upscale lifestyle retail center.

MahaNakhon is set on over 9 rai (3.6 acres) of Bangkok’s Central Business District directly fronting Chongnonsi BTS station between Silom and Sathorn Roads. Strategically located halfway between Chao Phraya River and Lumpini Park, which allows easy access to anywhere in the city. The location is surrounded by several luxury hotels and residences, Grade-A offices, world-class shopping centers, and international standard hospitals.

This dazzling tower is designed by internationally celebrated German architect Ole Scheeren, Partner of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). The design moves beyond the traditional formula of a seamless, inert, glossy totem, and instead actively engages the city: MahaNakhon’s pixilated and carved presence embraces and connects to the surrounding urban fabric rather than overpowering it.

The world’s leading hotel-branded residences management company provides a vision to create luxury living in the world’s most vibrant cities. Thailand’s first Ritz-Carlton Residences will feature less than 200 residences, which will become the city’s most exclusive address, and will include the legendary service of The Ritz-Carlton. As part of the mixed-use MahaNakhon development, residents will enjoy outstanding facilities and privacy, with the entire city easily within reach.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Bangkok are designed to the highest possible standard. Details of the residences include:

• A mix of 2 to 5 bedroom simplex and duplex residences
• The residences are located on floors 24–54 and range in size from 120–250 square meters
• The sky residences are located on floors 57–73, range in size from 300–800 square meters, and feature high ceilings of 3.5 meters
• Interior design is by London based celebrity interior designer David Collins — whose style is one that focuses on the importance of detail, color, atmosphere, lighting and comfort. Finishes will be customized by and given the David Collins twist, bringing historical artisan traditions into the 21st century.
• The average starting price is approximately 250,000 baht/square meter

Expansion Joints

expansion joint typicle pattern

Expansion Joints are widely used to allow movement in piping systems while containing pressure and medium running through it. Differential settlement, thermal growth, vibration or pressure pulsation can cause movement in piping system. When flexibility for this movement can not be designed into the piping system itself, expansions joints are the ideal solutions.

Type of movement

Axial movement

Angular movement

Lateral movement
